Arnold writes to George Lillie Craik selecting a vignette to illustrate his poems and requesting that a volume be sent to Arthur Stanley. He promises Henry B. Allon an article for the British quarterly review and tells Sir George Grove that he has finished a piece on Byron. Arnold invites Mr. Scherer to dinner and thanks him for some essays. He compliments Walter Richard Cassells on Supernatural religion and offers his own thoughts on the Bible. He asks Mr. McGregor to appoint a struggling poet named O'Conor to a school position. He thanks Joseph Severn for letting him see the holograph of Keat's sonnet beginning "Bright star ..." and offers a critique of it.

John Keats was an English poet and literary critic. John Keats, English poet, was born in London, England, on 29 or 31 Oct. 1795. He died of tuberculosis in Italy on 23 Feb. 1821.
